Grant: Scanlon Foundation Community Grants
Areas of support: These grants focus on two areas that are consistently raised by the community as particular areas of need: employment and literacy. In the area of employment, the Foundation looks for programs that understand the needs of potential employees, work directly with local businesses and consider the transition requirements of individuals and organisations. For literacy, the Foundation looks for programs that help individuals acquire English more informally, in ways that are accessible, flexible for meeting individual needs and (ideally) sustainable. The foundation’s mission is to work with communities, systems and institutions to support those who come to make Australia home.

Grant: ConnectGroups – Pay It Forward Grants 2023
Areas of support: The objective of Pay it Forward Plan is to be a mental health early intervention or prevention initiative to: Empower peer Support Groups to achieve positive mental health outcomes for their members; Contribute to the prevention of mental distress and/or illness, and the recovery of mental health for peer Support Group members, families and/or carers; Further peer Support Groups’ mental health supports to their members; Promote good mental health, a community of belonging and reduce social isolation; Encourage peer Support Groups’ mission, governance, and sustainability. Funding for projects can include one or more of the following categories: Capacity Building and Sustainability; Information Technology; Marketing and Promotion.

Areas of support: This program supports young Australians aged 12 to 25 years experiencing social, financial or physical hardship. Grant: Schools Plus – Smart Giving program
Areas of support: Schools are invited to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to seek additional funds for their school, for projects that explore innovative, creative and progressive approaches in education that aim to improve student outcomes. Schools Plus draws on advice from independent experts to select a range of projects, then promote them to potential donors who want to know where they can have the greatest impact. Successful Schools receive funding for a significant project to improve student outcomes and be connected to the Schools Plus team of education expert coaches who will provide an element of strategic support.

Areas of support: ICON is a proof-of-concept grant program that addresses market failure at the pre-seed stage. Grant: RFP: Social Housing Growth Fund – Mental Health Supported Housing
Areas of support: As part of the Big Housing Build program, this round of the Social Housing Growth Fund will provide grants to community housing agencies to deliver and operate new long-term social housing located across Victoria. The new homes will be used as supported housing in accordance with the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System. The housing and support model has been informed by the outcomes of a co-design project which involved people with a lived experience of mental illness. The new homes will contribute to the Big Housing Build target of delivering 2,000 homes and supports for Victorians living with mental illness who require intensive, ongoing treatment, care and support.
