Areas of support: Assists charities to develop their structures, systems, people, and skills to deliver improved outcomes for our community. Without limiting the meaning of capacity building as described above, projects can include: education and training; impact assessment; market sounding; recruitment and recognition of volunteers; information technology support systems; planning and governance (strategic plans, constitution reviews or board appraisals. The 2023 grant program supports organisational capacity building of mid-tier organisations with projects that strengthen community through collaboration. Organisations are encouraged to work with other like-minded organisations and charities who are delivering similar projects to support the community more efficiently.

Grant: Microcredentials Pilot in Higher Education
Areas of support: Microcredentials are small courses in a specific area of study, with a focus on upskilling and reskilling in short timeframes, to meet the needs of employers and industry. Under the Microcredentials Pilot in Higher Education, the Government will be piloting the design and delivery of microcredentials which meet specific criteria and are sourced from a higher education award as defined in the Tertiary Education Quality Standards Agency Act 2011. Stage 1 grants provide funding for the design of microcredentials. Funding to design the microcredentials will be based on the scope of the work to be undertaken.

Grant: Renewable Energy Innovation Fund (REIF)
Areas of support: The REIF aims to: support renewable energy companies based in the ACT; attract new ventures to the ACT; develop new research and trades training opportunities; support the development of a renewable energy ecosystem. Our aim is to achieve our shared vision of Canberra as a place of opportunity for clean energy research, innovation and investment. We’re driving the ACT’s renewables energy innovation expertise and net zero emissions future. We want new business models and innovation to solve clean energy challenges and accelerate the uptake of clean energy initiatives.

Grant: Food Rescue Grants
Areas of support: The objectives of the program are to: increase the diversion of food waste from landfill in Queensland to assist in meeting the actions and objectives of the Organics Strategy; support food rescue organisations to increase their capacity to rescue more food and provide it to Queenslanders in need. The program provides funding for equipment, infrastructure, operations and activities.

Areas of support: To enhance community wellbeing and provide opportunities for positive and lasting change. Focus areas are: Education, Training and Employment; and Community Health and Social Wellbeing. Target communities for funding are: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, refugees, newly arrived migrants, CALD communities, and communities experiencing socio-economic disadvantage. Note: Programs with a main focus on disability, mental health, and healthcare (i.e. programs directly addressing illness and disease) are not current priority areas for the Bennelong Foundation.

Areas of support: Community partnership innovation is a different way of working together to prevent youth offending and increase community safety. Eligible activities include: creation of new work, practice-based research or experimentation and professional development; production, exhibition, presenting, publishing or recording, touring and festivals; promotion and marketing; conservation and/or development of collections and archives; purchase of capital infrastructure and equipment; partnerships, capacity building and sustainability.
