Areas of support: As funding is limited and in very high demand, the panel will typically seek to fund outcomes that fill the gaps identified in our Annual Mental Health Research study; as well as expenses that are essential to ensuring an initiative, support service or project can occur; before allocating funding for non-essential expenses. We are committed to making funding decisions underpinned by our scientifically valid, ongoing research that specifically focuses on Australian women, their experiences and needs and adequately filling the gaps in mental health programs, initiatives, support services and research.

Grant:  Perpetual Trustees 2023 IMPACT Philanthropy Application Program 

Areas of support: Perpetual’s IMPACT Philanthropy Program distributes to all sectors including social welfare, health, medical and health research, conservation and environment, education, arts and culture and animal welfare. Funding is provided for a wide range of developmental stages, including (but not limited to) pilot and existing projects, capacity building and support for early career researchers. Submissions will be assessed against the following criteria: Strategy, Outcomes, Capability, and Leadership. Funding is generally provided as a single year, one-off grant.

Grant value: Maximum request is $120,000, though grants are generally between $10,000 and $100,000, with the average grant being $75,000 in recent years

Grant:  State Trustees Australia Foundation – Disadvantaged Children Grants 

Areas of support: State Trustees has developed the Disadvantaged Children grant program to address systemic issues contributing to disadvantage for children. The focus of the program is to foster children’s emotional wellbeing, educational attainment, and life achievement opportunities to help them grow and thrive. We are seeking to support initiatives that deploy collective impact approaches – engaging individuals, families, communities, and making effective use of existing programs.

Grant value: The round provides single one-year grants of up to $50,000 with potential to scale up to 3-year, $250k per year partnership from FY2023/24

Grant:  Queensland Government Community Sustainability Action Grants – Round 7 – Community Climate Action 

Areas of support: Grants will be provided for projects that enable community organisations to reduce emissions, boost renewables and reduce the energy bills that come with running facilities and services. Eligible projects will support the installation of renewable energy systems including solar, and batteries, or energy efficient equipment in community facilities to reduce energy demand.

Grant:  Connecting to Country Grants (WA) 

Areas of support: Supports projects that enable Western Australian Aboriginal people and organisations to undertake on Country activities that foster the intergenerational transfer of knowledge, preservation of culture and strengthening of communities. The program intends to: facilitate sharing of cultural knowledge and skills between generations; recognise Aboriginal cultural leadership within the Aboriginal community; contribute to stronger community mental health and wellbeing; strengthen traditional ways of maintaining cultural knowledge.

Areas of support: This program supports organisations that work within their local community and encourage the following values: helping the community in times of need; building community togetherness and sense of belonging; promoting positive health and wellbeing; supporting community services and groups; nurturing the local environment.

Grant:  Queensland Community Foundation – General Fund 

Areas of support: Assists charities to develop their structures, systems, people, and skills to deliver improved outcomes for our community. Without limiting the meaning of capacity building as described above, projects can include: education and training; impact assessment; market sounding; recruitment and recognition of volunteers; information technology support systems; planning and governance (strategic plans, constitution reviews or board appraisals. The 2023 grant program supports organisational capacity building of mid-tier organisations with projects that strengthen community through collaboration. Organisations are encouraged to work with other like-minded organisations and charities who are delivering similar projects to support the community more efficiently.
