Grant:  Gambling Community Benefit Fund Round 119

Areas of support: Provides funding to community groups and not-for-profit organisations in Queensland to enhance their capacity to provide services, leisure activities and opportunities for Queensland communities. The committee prioritises GCBF funding applications in this order, where 1 has the highest priority. 1: items/facilities directly affected, damaged or destroyed by a declared natural disaster in the last 2 years. 2: equipment or facility improvements. 3: buses, cars, caravans, boats, tractors, trailers, large mowers, motorbikes and similar items. 4: community events, training, workshops, festivals, publications and website development. 5: Organisations that have received more than $15,000 from the GCBF within the last 2 years.

Grant:  Safe Places Inclusion Round

Areas of support: Capital works grants for the renovation, building or purchase of new or expanded emergency accommodation for women and children experiencing family and domestic violence (FDV). It will focus on improving access to appropriate emergency accommodation for First Nations women and children, women and children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and women and children with disability, however, all women and children, regardless of identity, must be provided with accommodation or referral.

Grant:  Mercy Foundation Grants to End Homelessness

Areas of support: Projects that focus on ending and preventing homelessness especially chronic homelessness are currently priority areas for funding. Chronic homelessness is defined as an episode of homelessness lasting 6 months or longer or multiple episodes of homelessness over a 12-month period or more. Applicants must be able to specify measurable outcomes from the initiative. Those outcomes will need to show that the project has contributed to ending chronic homelessness or contributed substantially to increasing knowledge about the pathways into and out of homelessness – thereby increasing our understanding of how to prevent and how to end homelessness.

Application deadline: 27 November 2023

Grant value: Between $5,000 – $60,000 with grants likely to be averaging $20,000 – $30,000.

Grant:  Healthy Living NT – Community Grants Program

Areas of support: Offering grants for NT community-based projects or activities which build capacity and improve health outcomes for community members who have, or are at risk of developing, a chronic disease, through: improving health literacy; improving health knowledge; improving health behaviour or; improving community participation in healthier lifestyles. This may be achieved through reducing risk factors associated with chronic disease, helping people or communities to live healthier lifestyles or through education or resource development.

Grant:  Information, Linkages and Capacity Building – Individual Capacity Building Grant Opportunity

Areas of support: The objectives of this grant opportunity are: people with disability, their families and carers, have the skills, knowledge and confidence to access and navigate disability, health, and other community services and activities; people with disability, their families and carers, are aware of their rights and have the skills, knowledge and confidence to exercise those rights; the innovation of new disability care and inclusion ideas and practices that may offer a model to better supporting the objectives above.
